Plus when I started I had a system that could barely do super mario 64, so It wasn’t a priority… but my current system plays up through PS4/X1 so It’s probably time to revisit some basics like this. The important thing is to understand conceptually is that first you bind your physical controller to various 'virtual buttons' (called 'RetroPad' I think) in the main retroarch config, and then bind those virtual buttons to console buttons on a per-core basis. The script is located in two places: Steam Deck Steam Gaming. I’m gonna go look on eBay for some of those controllers actually… because now I really wanna know. For example on Nintendo emulators, I like switching the A / B button to make it more consistent with US control layouts but I dont want to actually switch A / B for the RetroArch menu controls or with other cores. EmulationStation Desktop Edition (ES-DE) v2.1. To access the RetroArch menu, open a game and then press 元 + the F button. I don’t have any USB versions of the PSX (dualshock), N64, 3D Saturn, or Dreamcast pads though, so I haven’t been able to test those yet for full compatibility with this method.Īs far as digital inputs go it’s 100%, so it covers most of the systems emulated by RA. However, my solution for that was mapping the analogue sticks alone inside RA instead of Xpadder. Ive been manually switching from mode 4 to mode 1 until now for a lack of a better solution. Works in menu but not in game We have 2 wireless analog controllers mapped and working fine, but the cabinet sticks/buttons won't trigger the insert coin action in the Mame game Cadillacs & Dinosaurs no matter how we map them, even tho the analog controller select button triggers the insert coin action just fine. Yeah… Xpadder doesn’t really support analogue functions sadly. I'm having hard time with arcade sticks and buttons mapping on retrobat. Ok, I see Quit RetroArch hotkey option in Retrobat setup. We don't typically set the quit controller combo to anything by default. in settings > hotkeys, there are entries for both a 'quit controller combo' and just plain ol' 'quit retroarch'. You do lose out on PlayStation-style analog stick control though, don’t ya? Since Xpadder can’t emulate that too well. I don’t see any option in Hotkeys menu to set quit key. ![]()
